That's My Kind of Style!

That’s My Kind of Style is moving!

After much thought for the last seven months, I have decided to move That’s My Kind of Style! to Wordpress. Wordpress has always been my go-to site for blogging and for the last several months, I have been trying to figure out how to make my fashion blog different and stand out from the thousands of fashion blogs out there. The answer was in my face the entire time: No Boundaries. No Limits. My faith, love for family/friends, fashion, the arts, and an appreciation for things in life was about me, my life, and my experiences that made me who I am today. That was the whole reason I opened my blog in the first place. I opened it because I did not want to have a “themed” blog, but most of all, I did not want to have boundaries nor limits when it came to my one of my biggest passions: writing.

I don’t care about the number of followers. At least not anymore. Jon Acuff’s article really opened up my eyes. In the end, it’s not about chasing a number. It’s about chasing a dream. I was chasing a number. I was trying to gain followers and in the process of it all, the real me began to fade. What would happen once I gained the number I wanted? A desire for a higher number? What would happen after that? I would be going in circles! My dream is to become successful in fashion, but to also be me and I lost sight of myself.

With that said, to all of my readers and the few followers I have on here, I will still leave up this blog, but from now on, 100% of my fashion posts will be on my Wordpress blog, No Boundaries, No Limits. You can choose to follow me or not follow me. It’s up to you. Thank you for your support!

The Shops at Target Debut

Target has done it again! This time their collaboration isn’t with a big name designer. It’s a smart one: Partnering with small shops and boutiques all over the country.

Unique to each business’s personality, but also in keeping with Target’s brand, you can add a touch of fun culture to your life with Target’s partnership with Miami-based The Webster, Connecticut-based Privet House, Aspen, Colo.-based Cos Bar, Boston-based Polka Dog Bakery and San Francisco-based The Candy Store in this first round of a planned collaboration.

Co-created by the shops and Target, you can find edible goods, products for your pets, satisfy your sweet tooth, and add a touch of glamour to your home and wardrobes!

What an awesome and smart move on Target’s part! Not only do they help these small businesses increase their brand awareness, they are bringing cultures from different states into our homes.

The Shops at Target will debut in stores this weekend, starting Sunday, May 6th and you can bet that these kind of partnerships will continue beyond 2012. Happy shopping!
